Ghost town drawings 1940-1975.

This collection contains thirty drawings by Muriel Sibell Wolle of old Colorado mining and mill sites and ghost towns, contained in two oversized boxes. The sizes of the drawings range from 12" x 16" to 16"x 22" and are on paper, executed in a variety and/or combination of media, including charcoal, colored pencil, watercolor, crayon, ink and lithographic crayon. These drawings were completed between 1941 and 1975, and portray buildings that were changed or restored, as in the case of Cripple Creek and Central City, or deteriorated or destroyed. Many sites have been destroyed by man, landslides or general deterioration caused by weather and neglect.
